Edwards County Hospital & Healthcare

This new 15,500 square foot acute care and critical services building houses the primary services for acute care, emergency and outpatient services of the hospital. The 12 bed acute plan features a centralized nursing station with full visibility of acute, emergency, ambulance receiving, front entrance and outpatient/diagnostics areas. Efficiency planning allows two nursing personnel to effectively serve third shift. The new facility connects an existing clinic and old hospital which is now housing administration, the County Health Department and Home Health. A master plan utilizes the remaining area for community functions such as senior services, independent living and Physician/Dental offices. This consolidation of medical services in a single complex represents a unique approach for continuum of care in rural communities.
