Jefferson Elementary School

in K-12 education

The design intent of the Jefferson Elementary School project was to respect the existing building form and proportions while updating the overall campus appearance. The large glass areas were important to the students and staff. The tower form above the new media center brings in additional natural light and contributes a new identifying feature to the facility. This project included a large addition to the existing building. A new media center, four classrooms, two special education classrooms, art room, and music room were all included in the addition. This project followed the construction of a multipurpose room and tornado shelter previously designed by PBA. The infrastructure of the existing building was also upgraded, including new windows and doors. The total size for the building addition was 16,000 square feet and the construction budget for the project was $2,457,500
